ABOUT LEGACY FIGHT CLUB
A Little History
Our humble beginnings actually started in August 2014 in Base Borden where instructor Bao was working as part of the Canadian Armed Forces. Because of complications, Bao decided to move his club of 2 members to Barrie where he rented some mat space from a Tae Kwon Do gym in order to continue teaching classes. Further complications saw Legacy moving yet another time after a few months! With the encouragement of members and the help of some dedicated teammates (2 of which are now instructors), slowly yet surely, business began to flourish. Legacy Fight Club finally decided in the late summer of 2015 to migrate to their very own location. The club continues to grow and develop members who are willing.
Our Core Values:
Continuous growth and education
A Bad Breakup that Led to an Awesome new Relationship
"I, Bao, started Legacy Fight Club for my own selfish reasons.
I have been craving to compete after taking some time off for nearly 4 years prior to the opening of Legacy, but distractions kept derailing me from this goal. There were very little options for training Muay Thai in Barrie so I decided in the late summer of 2014 to open a fight club, with the far-fetched hopes that I can find people to train with so I can once again return to the ring.
Things didn't go as planned.
I fell in love with instructing classes, getting to know the members, training the fighters for their bouts, and creating/running a business. Legacy has not helped me return to the ring, but it has helped me accept that my journey in Muay Thai is now elsewhere.
One journey ends, another begins...
Where is your next journey?"
"Empty your mind, be formless. Shapeless, like water. If you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle and it becomes the bottle. You put it in a teapot, it becomes the teapot. Now, water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend.” -Bruce Lee
